Promising news about basking shark numbers

Numbers up after recent decline

Basking sharks appear to be returning to Manx waters.

It follows a decrease in sightings in recent years.

The basking shark is the second-largest living shark and fish, and feeds on plankton.

An adult shark can grow to around 7.9 metres. 

Jen Adams is the Outreach and Education manager of Manx Whale and Dolphin Watch.

She says numbers around the Island are definitely up this summer:
