A long-serving member of the House of Keys says he is determined to ensure proxy votes aren't abused in next month's by-election in East Douglas.
The issue was raised at Tuesday's sitting by Onchan MHK Peter Karran.
A proxy vote is cast when a person gets permission to carry out the process of voting on behalf of another who is off the Island at the time of an election.
Mr Karran is keen that only residents, either on holiday or business, make use of the system:
Scammers becoming more sophisticated with AI, say police
More restrictions for MHKs over planning comments
Two thirds of vehicles checked by police found to have defects
Campaign group welcomes step towards free period products
