New guidance on when to keep kids off school
New guidance on when and for how long poorly children should be kept off school or nursery is being distributed in the Island.
A new booklet outlines the treatment and exclusion period for a wide range of infections - from athlete's foot and head lice to worms, shingles and tonsillitis.
Based on guidance from Public Health England, it's described as a useful check-list for parents - and is being sent to workplaces, day centres and child minders Island-wide.
Health protection nurse Debra Ashmole says the guidance is crystal clear and should be followed - even if a youngster appear well again after illness:
