Public asked to check gardens and outbuildings for missing man

David Lee went missing on Thursday

Police still unable to locate 81-year-old David Lee

Police are asking people in the south of the Island to check their gardens, sheds, outhouses and vehicles as the search for a missing man continues.

They say despite ‘a lot of effort’ today they’ve been unable to locate 81-year-old David Lee.

The Douglas man was reported missing yesterday (15 July).

Today dogs were used to search South Barrule Plantation after CCTV showed Mr Lee had got off a bus in Foxdale at around 1.30pm on Thursday (14 July).

Officers say there is a strong possibility he’s walked past Coffee Cottage, in the plantation, and along the A36 Shoulder Road towards the Round Table crossroads.

They say he had a connection in the past with Earystane – which is down the Colby Glen Road – but he could have also headed down the Sloc or to Eairy Cushlin.

Anyone who walks, or rides, in those areas has been asked to look out for Mr Lee who is around 5ft 2 and was last seen wearing a hat.

Those who live in the areas are asked to check around their properties for signs of him.

Officers and drones are being used to search the areas.

Anyone who does see Mr Lee is asked to contact 999 or Police Headquarters on 631212.
