Public not following social distancing rules, says post office

Reports of 'close contact' with staff members

The Isle of Man Post Office is reminding customers to adhere to the social distancing rules.

There have been a number of incidents reported of people failing to stay two metres apart from its workers - coming into close contact with staff members during post deliveries.

The business shared its concerns on social media, urging people to follow the government's guidelines on social distancing and self-isolation.

The office is also following the World Health Organisation (WHO), UK and Isle of Man Government advice regarding the COVID-19 outbreak.

A number of steps have been taken to reduce the risk to staff and customers of contracting the virus.

This includes segregating teams from different areas of the business, and encouraging employees to work from home.

Customers are being urged to sign up for a free 'Safe Place' and 'Authority to Sign' service.
