Public tours of new health facility

Chance to see inside mental health unit

Members of the public are invited to view a new mental health facility which has just been opened in the grounds of Noble's hospital.

If you'd like to see how £7.2 million has been spent on Manannan Court - a purpose built, acute inpatient unit - guided tours are on offer today on a first-come, first-served basis.

The facility, which will accept its first patients at the end of the month, replaces Grianagh Court, increasing bed numbers from 20 to 26.

It includes a number of inbuilt safety features designed to reduce the risk of self-harm, and it's hoped the ward environment and aesthetics will enhance patients' recovery.

Tours in groups of 15 will last up to an hour and to book a place, call 642843 or e mail jodi.pinckard@gov.im
