The Chief Minister has been in talks with Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon to find a common solution to concerns raised about the Island's king scallop industry.
A recently introduced requirement, which means vessels fishing in Manx seas have to call at an Island port, has sparked controversy over its impact on Scottish fisherman, but remains in place.
An announcement is expected in the next few days following the meeting between the two heads of government.
