Media spotlight to shine on alleged avoidance
The financial reputation of the Isle of Man could be under the media spotlight in the next few weeks.
Allegations of abusive VAT avoidance are being made by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists.
It centres on the importation of aircraft into the European Union and the VAT treatment of leasing arrangements.
An ongoing review by the Manx Treasury Customs and Excise Division has found no evidence of wrongdoing and the UK Treasury has been invited to assess the process.
