
The House of Keys and Legislative Council have heard a message from the Queen to mark the 60th anniversary of the British Commonwealth.
At the start of this morning’s sittings, letters were read out which had been sent to the Island from her majesty.
She described the Commonwealth as a family of nations and peoples and called for all countries to meet the challenges of the future, including poverty and injustice.
She also said it was important to look into the future at the same time as celebrating the past.
