Quine family take top Southern Agricultural Show prize

Supreme champion Charolais Bull with owner Jonathan Quine

Charolais Bull named champion

The Quine family from Ballakilley have scooped the top prize at this year's Southern Agricultural Show.

After 50 years of trying, John Quine found it difficult to contain his emotions as he took the win with the family's Charolais Bull.

He spoke to Kirri Kermode:

Judge Ian Faragher awarded Third Reserve to Ned Kennaugh and Silvia Murray with heavy horse Daisy.

Second reserve went to the Creer family and their Texel Ram.

And Vicky Sloane-Masson and Neil Masson claimed first reserve with their Holstein Cow.

Others who took home awards were Junior Champion Alec Masson, and the Moore Family who were winners of the Glendown Cup for best newcomers to the show.

A few notes from today's show:

Dog obedience and Agility has been cancelled.

The working hunter and the showjumping is still on, and the meg lambs are being moved to the fur and feather tent.
