MHK wants independent body established
A Douglas MHK wants government to establish an independent body to deal with the climate emergency.
Ralph Peake is seeking support for an amendment which could see a transformation team put in place by the Council of Ministers.
It came as Garff MHK Daphne Caine called upon Tynwald this week, to recognise the crisis-state of the environment.
The motion was put on hold until next month, after the House of Keys and Legislative Council were in disagreement over an amendment put forward by Environment Minister Geoffrey Boot.
Though the climate issue appears to have been overlooked, he says there is still time for progress:
Vote on Castle Rushen High School funding 'very unlikely' before election
Ramsey Commissioners to host public meeting about cottage hospital
WCAS reuse garages to reopen on trial basis
Manannan's morning sailings cancelled due to weather conditions
