A flag day for the IOM Fund for the Blind has raised a record amount for the charity.
The £5,500 was the highest ever collected by the largest number of volunteers - 85. An anonymous donation of £2,000 was also received.
Chair of the IOM Fund, Mrs Pat Corrin says the money raised will assist the Society to purchase much needed equipment and provide essential services for the Island’s visually impaired people. There were some high profile collectors including the Mayor and Mayoress of Douglas and Chris Williams and Bob Harrison of Manx Radio.
