Manx marine biologist documenting plastic pollution
An all-woman expedition from Hawaii to Seattle has begun researching the effects of ocean pollution.
The voyage, which sees the Isle of Man's Rowan Henthorn documenting marine debris, has released its first weekly dispatch.
Alongside a crew of 23 females, the UNESCO Biosphere Ambassador has conducted the first mantra trawls for micro plastics, at what has come to be known as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
The three thousand nautical mile expedition hopes to raise awareness and find solutions of the 'devastating' impact of single use plastics in the world's oceans.
