Residents speak out over Sure's 5G antenna plans

Telecoms provider plans for 45ft mast in conservation area

Plans by Sure to build a 15 meter-high mobile mast at a vacant plot on Woodbourne Lane have been opposed by a number of residents.

The telecoms provider wants to erect it behind the properties as part of the development of its 5G network and to boost coverage in the area.

It's to replace the temporary structure currently installed by Woodbourne House, which is being used to trial the technology.

But many of those who live by the site, which is in a conversation area, are against the proposal.

Ewan Gawne spoke to John who's property overlooks the plot:

Alexander Drive residents Mac and Jane outlined their objections to Ewan:

Sure Chief executive Mike Phillips says the investment in the company's future mobile network will ensure 'the community's needs are met', and will follow international safety standards'.
