Residents would be happier to see more money spent on the health service if they can be 'absolutely certain' they could access essential services.

That's from the treasury minister - he told the Isle of Man Government Conference that simply throwing money at health would see it absorbed.

'Serious work' is said to be underway to tackle waiting lists for elective operations - particularly in cataracts and hip replacements.
