RGS team wins OWC Charity Challenge

Boost for Pahar Trust

A team from Ramsey Grammar School has won the latest One World Centre Charity Challenge.

The students claimed the £3,500 prize for their chosen charity, the Pahar Trust, which works to improve education and health services for remote communities in Nepal.

The event sees teams of sixth-form students from the Island's secondary schools choose a charity which works in the developing world, research its work and prepare a presentation.

Last night's event was held at sponsor AFD Software's headquarters in Ramsey.

One of the team from Ramsey Grammar, Maddy Dunlop, says undertaking the project has certainly had an impact on her:

The team from St Ninian's High School was second and from QEII third, picking up £2,000 and £1,000 each for their chosen charities.
