Warning of significant coastal overtopping issued

Strong winds increasing throughout the day are expected to contribute

An amber weather warning has been issued by the Ronaldsway Met Office with a risk of coastal overtopping and minor inner harbour flooding.

Strong winds steadily increasing to gale force by the evening are expected to create large waves and lead to significant overtopping of sea water.

The area's most at risk are Shore Road in Rushen, Castletown Promenade, central and northern parts of Douglas Prom, and Laxey & Ramsey Promenades.
