Rotary Clubs join force in appeal to aid Ukraine's humanitarian crisis

Four clubs will participate and no donation too small

The Rotary Club of the Isle of Man is launching an appeal to assist people who have been displaced by the conflict in Ukraine.

The organisation is well known for its humanitarian work and has helped millions of people worldwide.

Four Rotary clubs on the Island will work on the appeal. They include Rushen and Western Mann, Onchan, Douglas, and Ramsey.

In a statement, Nigel Dobson Secretary of Rotary Club of Onchan said:

"Over the last few days over a million people have been displaced by the war in Ukraine. To put that into perspective, that is the equivalent of twelve times the entire population of the Isle of Man. And it is only going to get worse."

Donations will go towards work with organisations such as ShelterBox, which provides temporary accommodation, and Aquabox which supplies clean water.

For further information, you can contact Nigel Dobson, Secretary of the Rotary Club of Onchan at: nigel@suremail.im or on 07624 215515.
