A unique way forward says Lord Bishop
The Lord Bishop says the appointment of a Safeguarding Officer for Churches on the Island is a pioneering move.
A qualified probation officer and social worker, Tony Connell took up his role here recently, after being appointed by CAIM, or Churches Alive in Mann, which represents different denominations.
His post is funded by the various churches.
Bishop Peter says it's well known there have been serious safeguarding lapses in the past, and he believes the appointment is a unique way forward.
