Salvation Army launches annual Christmas Present Appeal

Ensuring children aren't left out on December 25

Hundreds of disadvantaged children on the Isle of Man could wake up without a gift on Christmas Day.

To stop that from happening the Salvation Army has launched its annual Christmas Present Appeal.

Residents are being asked to donate toys to the charity which will then be distributed to vulnerable youngsters.

Leader Rachael Nieuwoudt says many families face challenges during the festive season:

Last year's campaign helped provide sacks of toys for up to 400 children.

1,000 people also received a food voucher or parcel to ensure they could eat over the festive period.

Gifts – which should be new and unwrapped - can be dropped off at all Isle of Man Bank branches, some Shoprite stores and The Entertainer in Douglas.
