'Clear' community and social need for extension
Santon Church is seeking planning permission to extend its hall to provide improved nursery provision and a 'flexible' church and community meeting room.
The plans would see a shed currently situated on the land knocked down to make room for the extension.
Three trees would also be removed.
The church says there is a clear community and social need for the bigger space adding it would become an asset to the local area.
It adds that the scheme would provide the church and wider community with a 'much-needed' meeting room which would include internet access in the evenings and at weekends.
Under the new plans there would also be a new accessible disabled toilet and a ramp entrance to a new porch.
The application is currently pending consideration and can be found here.
