Ballakermeen High School says it was "desperately saddened" to hear the devastating news of the death of one its former students.
Seventeen year old Brad Campbell from Onchan lost his life when the car in which he was travelling crashed on Foxdale Road at the weekend, close to the junction with the Archallagan Road.
The school says Brad was a lively character, well-liked by his peers and teachers.
He left the school in Summer 2013 and was looking forward to learning a trade.
His tutor Mrs Wareing remembers him as a popular young man who always had a smile on his face.
The school says their thoughts and prayers are with Brad's family.
