Sea travel TT visitor numbers up

5,000 already booked for 2018

Fans flocked to the Island in their droves once again for this year's TT, it's been confirmed.

The Steam Packet has revealed a rise in visitor numbers on 2016.

Thirty-six-a-half-thousand passengers traveled over to the Isle of Man from various locations.

There was a 6% in the number of motorbikes arriving during this year's TT fortnight, with more than 14,000 arriving at the Sea Terminal in Douglas.

Three vessels - the Ben-my-Chree, fast craft Manannan and the MV arrow - transported both bikes and riders to and from Liverpool, Heysham, Dublin and Belfast.

Figures for cars, vans and trailers were also up on the previous year.

More than 5,000 people have already booked to come over for the 2018 event since reservations started being taken last month.
