Cow harbour's safe return
Port Erin lifeboat had some unusual passengers this week – when they were called out to help two Loaghtan sheep.
The ram and ewe fell 80 feet down a cliff on the Calf of Man near the Stack on Tuesday lunchtime, and were stuck on a ledge as the tide rose.
The volunteer crewmen raced to the rescue after a local fisherman raised the alarm, and managed to reach the frightened animals.
They were returned to Cow Harbour on the Calf, and were said to be “very well behaved” aboard the lifeboat.
