Six St Ninian's staff isolating after co-worker's positive Covid test

No evidence of spread to students says Isle of Man Government

Six members of staff at St Ninian's High School are self-isolating after one of their colleagues tested positive for Covid-19.

The individual was one of three people to test positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours, having acquired the virus from a known source on Island.

All close contacts have tested negative but are continuing to self isolate, and the Isle of Man Government says there's no evidence of spread to any students at the school.

Headteacher Chris Coole will be sharing more details on the school's website tonight.

Those who wish to wear face coverings in school tomorrow will be supported, and masks will be provided in school if pupils or staff don't have their own, while parents can collect additional supplies of lateral flow tests if they choose.

Any students who develop Covid symptoms are asked to stay at home and call 111.

Education Minister Dr Alex Allinson will provide an update on Manx Radio Breakfast after 8am tomorrow.
