The Steam Packet has opened talks with those behind plans for a giant wind farm in the Irish Sea.
BP, and German firm EnBW, are the preferred bidders for the joint venture project.
If successful it would straddle the route taken by vessels travelling between the Isle of Man and Liverpool.
