45th anniversary of tragedy marked
Survivors, friends and relatives will come together to remember the Summerland disaster later.
The fire at the former leisure centre claimed 50 lives - and injured scores more - 45 years ago today (2 August).
For the first time, attendees have been allowed onto the derelict site on Douglas Promenade to hold a vigil.
A memorial will also be held simultaneously at the nearby Kaye Gardens.
Ruth McQuillan-Wilson suffered severe burns when she was caught in the fire as a young girl.
