Fisheries Minister John Shimmin says he is pleased with the backing of a campaigner in a Sunday newspaper over the Isle of Man's stance on scallop fishing.
Some Scottish vessels have been banned from Manx waters under new rules, which led Charles Clover to use his column in the Sunday Times to attack the Scottish parliament.
Mr Clover applauded the Island for preserving scallop stocks and said the Scottish first minister threatened the Island with a judicial review over the new scallop bye-laws.
Mr Shimmin says the move was the right one for the Island:
Inquest into death of man who died in Hillberry crash opened
Reduced hours for a number of sub-Post Offices come into effect
Gas regulation bill criticised for lack of clarity, accountability and purpose
Housing, healthcare and overspending some of the concerns ahead of elections
