Chief Minister Tony Brown has spoken to the Island's media about swine flu for the first time.
In the light of the increasing number of cases in a growing number of countries, all departments of the Manx government have been advised to step up their contingency preparations, in accordance with the government's strategic plan for dealing with a flu pandemic.
At the same time, the World Health Organisation has raised the alert level for the disease from four to five, triggering the distribution of advice leaflets to all households in the Island, which will happen next week.
Matt Kennaugh asked Mr Brown how worried the Island should be:
Carers: 'They are often the quiet heroes of our Island'
Hooper: 'Time to bite the bullet and build new hospital'
'No final decisions' made yet about relocating dementia patients says Manx Care
'We want to provide a facility for almost anybody'
