Syrian refugee discussion continues

Campaigners want informed debate

Campaigners say they want an open and informed debate about the issue of accepting displaced Syrians into the country.

Howard Quayle recently reiterated his government's position that would see the Island donate aid money rather than resettling refugees.

Members from the group Manx Support Refugees say there are social and economic benefits to taking in those fleeing the war-torn country.

Speaking on Women Today, Laura Cretney believes the Island could also utilise the refugees' skill-sets'.
