Three face 'serious' charges after alleged burglary

Three men have appeared in court charged with aggravated burglary with intent to commit grievous bodily harm.

James Mark Cromwell, George Alexander Jamie McLaren and Donal John Tobin were all remanded in custody.

Strongly opposing an application for bail by Mr Cromwell, prosecutor Rosemary Burnett said two people had allegedly sustained serious injuries.

The offences were allegedly committed at a property in Douglas last month.

Mr Cromwell, aged 34 and of no fixed abode, and Mr McLaren, also 34 and of Viking Road, Willaston, each face two further counts of wounding with intent to commit grievous bodily harm.

Mr Tobin, 35, of Marathon Drive in Douglas is charged with two offences of malicious grievous bodily harm.

Deputy high bailiff Alastair Montgomerie refused Mr Cromwell's bail application, and remanded Mr Cromwell and Mr McLaren in custody until January 7.

Mr Tobin, who was arrested more recently, will appear again on December 14, via 'live link' from the prison at Jurby.
