
Douglas Council leader David Christian says ratepayers in the capital will end up paying twice for the “toilet tax”.
After yesterday’s budget meeting, he told Manx Radio the council will have to find extra money to pay for the £50 surcharge announced by Water Authority chairman John Houghton.
His comments came as 5,000 people signed up to a petition online that calls on Tynwald to scrap the proposals.
