
The redrawing of the VAT revenue sharing agreement with the United Kingdom has been the catalyst to introduce proposals to overhaul the Manx government.
So says Treasury Minister Allan Bell, after plans were unveiled for a major restructuring of the nine departments, with renewed focus on growing the economy to generate more income for the Isle of Man.
However, Mr Bell believes the general climate has also encouraged the chief minister to put forward the plans (play audio file):
