'A modest man who dedicated life to public service'
Tynwald paid tribute to former Deemster Jack Corrin this morning (Tues 9)
Mr Corrin passed away at the weekend at the age of 87.
Educated initially at Fairfield Murrays Road School, John William Corrin, known to all as Jack, won a scholarship to go to King Williams College.
He went on to be called to the Manx Bar in 1954 and became Attorney General for the Island in 1974 before becoming second Deemster in 1980.
President of Tynwald Steve Rodan says he was a modest man who had dedicated his life to public service and charitable concerns.
The court stood to pay silent tribute.
Tribute was also paid to Tynwald messenger Gary Homer, who passed away recently. Condolences were passed on to his wife Margaret, family and friends.
