
One of the key figures of Manx politics has passed away at the age of 86.
Dr Edgar Mann was chairman of the Executive Council and Education Minister during a political career which spanned more than 20 years.
Dr Mann, who died peacefully in Noble’s Hospital after a long illness, held a number of government posts and was also acting Speaker of the House of Keys.
He leaves a wife Joan, seven children and 16 grandchildren.
