Two Liverpool women deny charges
Two women from Liverpool will face trial at a Court of General Gaol Delivery over a huge heroin seizure made by police.
John Slater of Ashley Park in Onchan, and Liverpool women Jaine Elizabeth Beech and Tracy Solas appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse.
Thirty-one-year-old Slater pleaded guilty to possessing heroin with intent to supply it and possessing £900 of criminal property.
Thirty-nine-year-old Miss Beech and 46-year-old Miss Solas, both from Walton, deny jointly producing the drug and possessing it with intent to supply it.
A previous hearing was told police raided Slater’s home on January 16 and found 154 grammes of heroin in his kitchen.
The drugs, in plastic wrapping, were soaked in bodily fluids – leading police to believe they’d been hidden internally.
Mrs Hughes said given the quantity of drugs, the case should be heard before a Court of General Gaol Delivery.
The trio were remanded in custody – Slater is due to appear again on March 3, while both Liverpool women are due back in court on February 12.
