Iconic landmark transformed into barber shop and coffee house
An iconic landmark of the Isle of Man’s entertainment industry has been given a new lease of life by a former TT rider.
Paramount City – on Douglas Promenade – has reopened its doors after extensive renovation as a barber shop and coffee house.
It’s the brainchild of Richard ‘Milky’ Quayle and his wife Lydia who hope to make the venue a continental style café bar.
They’ll be applying for an alcohol licence in due course.
Milky told Manx Radio he knows it’s a difficult time for the hospitality industry:
Amber weather warning issued as strong winds and coastal conditions expected overnight
Hospice funding criticised by UK charity chief amid Isle of Man service cuts
Sailings cancelled as storm brings gale-force winds
Manx Mountain Marathon route diverted over safety concerns amid forecast strong winds
