TT movie wows Manx audience

'TT 3D: Closer to the Edge' went down a storm at its Isle of Man premiere last night (Monday).

More than 300 people packed the Palace Cinema for the first screening before a Manx audience.

There was a red carpet welcome for the stars of the film, including riders John McGuiness and Guy Martin, director Richard de Aragues, and CinemaNX producer Steve Christian.

The verdict of many of the audience was that it was a true representation of one of the most spectacular sporting events in the world (first part of audio file):

Manx Radio TT commentator Charlie Lambert was at the premiere, which he admitted he had been longing to see since filming began at last year's event.

Afterwards he said the film went a long way to capturing why the riders risk their lives to ride in the TT.

He said the portrayal of their determination to get back on their bikes despite disappointment and shaves with death, shone through (second part of audio file):
