TT practicing starts this evening and Pre-TT Classic continues

It's official - TT 2009 is here, with the first practice session due to start at 6.20 this evening! 

Roads around the mountain section are scheduled to close at 5pm, and the rest of the course an hour later. 

They will reopen no later than 9pm.

This year a large number of first-time competitors will take on the world’s toughest and most exciting motorcycle races.

Among them are brothers Ben and Tom Birchall of Mansfield, who are currently battling at the top of the World Sidecar Championship.

Meanwhile, roads around the Billown Circuit are closing at lunchtime today, as the Blackfords Pre-TT Classic Road Races continue.

The closure will be from 1pm until no later than 3.45pm.

The event started on Friday night with a practice session, and reaches a climax on Monday when road closures will be from 9.10am to 12.05pm, and from 12.50pm to 3.45pm.
