MHK says a lack of understanding of the rules of culture of Tynwald has had an impact
The Speaker of the House of Keys believes the 'churn rate' in Tynwald members during the current administration has led to quite a lot of friction in the Manx parliament.
Eight of the current MHKs had never served in Tynwald prior to the 2021 general election, with three having sat in the Legislative Council during the previous administration.
Six new MLCs have been elected since 2021, with a new Bishop and Attorney General also joining LegCo in that time.
Once seen by some as a chamber for former MHKs, the upper branch has had no former MHKs among its members since the election in March this year.
