Tynwald has paid tribute to Captain Andrew Douglas.
The former MHK for Malew and Santon passed away on Friday, in the Island's hospice.
He was well known as a former Steam Packet captain and editor of the shipping magazine Sea Breezes, as well as being an MHK between 2002 and 2006.
President of Tynwald Noel Cringle said Captain Douglas was a Manxman 'through and through' and told a story which, he said, summed up his quiet determination to 'get the job done':
