Tynwald's final sitting of 2021

Face coverings and Liverpool ferry terminal on agenda this month

Members of Tynwald will gather for their final sitting of 2021 today.

Before them is a relatively small order paper - in contrast the question paper promises a busy session with 25 tabled for answer.

The Minister for Infrastructure, Tim Crookall will move that Tynwald approves his Department incurring total expenditure of over £70.6 million to complete the construction of the new Isle of Man ferry terminal and associated facilities at Princes Half Tide Dock Liverpool.

That represents an additional increase of £32.6 million from the original estimate.

When it comes to questions Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse has six for answer ranging from a timescale for the Animal Welfare Bill, to the compulsory wearing of face masks on buses.

Douglas South member, Claire Christian has five questions including one which asks the Health Minister when medical cannabis will be available on prescription.

The sitting begins at 10.30 and you can listen live on Manx Radio's AM 1368 frequency.
