Dr Helen Pankhurst salutes movement's Manx connection
The great-granddaughter of revolutionary English suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst is on the Island this weekend.
She gave a talk at the Ballakermeen Lecture Theatre last night (Fri)
Dr Helen Pankhurst has been meeting Island schoolchildren and politicians during her visit.
Emmeline Pankhurst's mother, Sophia Goulden, came from Lonan and the Island has been in the vanguard of the womens' movement.
Dr Pankhurst says she hopes to help increase knowledge of Sophia Goulden - as well as highlight the face of modern suffrage.
