Douglas Central's Ann Corlett has long campaigned for 20mph in her constituency
A Douglas Central MHK wants the Department of Infrastructure to give other constituencies the opportunity to share their opinion before 20 mile-per-hour speed limits are implemented in residential areas.
Minister Michelle Haywood presented an implementation plan to Tynwald this week setting out a staged timeline running until summer 2026.
In a debate lasting over two and a half hours yesterday, Ann Corlett presented an amendment to members calling on the DOI to properly engage and consult local authority areas.
She says her constituents have made their opinion known to her for many years, but added it's important other Island residents get the same voice:
