Up to 300 young carers on Island
Today (Thursday) is National Young Carers Day.
The day aims to raise awareness of the estimated 700,000 or so young carers in the UK who work around the clock providing care and support to family and friends.
There are around 100 known young carers in the Island but it’s suspected there could be twice that number not yet known to health chiefs.
Tim Jones from Crossroads says children and young people who helpcare for a family member need to know there’s support for them.
If you want to find out more, you can contact Tim on 673103, via crossroadsiom.org or find them on facebook or twitter - and hashtag #doilooklikeicare
