World class concert for Noble's Park

One of the most successful recording artists of all-time will be performing live in the Isle of Man next June.

The Valhalla Tent at Noble's Park will be the venue for a concert by Sir Elton John.

Sir Elton has sold 250 million records in a career spanning five decades, and has seven number one singles in the United Kingdom, either as Elton John or dueting with other artists.

His single 'Candle in the Wind 1997' or 'Goodbye England's Rose' - a tribute to his friend, the late Princess Diana - has sold over 33 million copies worldwide, making it the second most successful single ever, after Bing Crosby's White Christmas.

Sir Elton - whose numerous other hits include Your Song, Rocket Man, Daniel and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - is the third most successful artist in the history of the American charts, behind the Beatles and Madonna.

The concert is on Thursday, June 16, 2011 and tickets go on sale at 9am tomorrow (Thursday).

For tickets, follow the link from manxradio.com, or call the hotline on 0844 481 5816.

By an unusual coincidence, today's announcement comes on the 40th anniversary of the day Sir Elton's famous live album 17-11-70 was recorded.
