Year of Our Island issue Summer Passports for kids

25 stamps hidden in glens and trails

A treasure hunt has been launched to encourage children to explore the outdoors over the holidays.

Year of Our Island has created a 'Summer Passport’ aimed at 4 to 11 year olds.

It is filled with a checklist of activities urging holders to collect stamps and write about their adventures.

Stamps can be found in the Island's glens, railways stations and heritage sites with prizes for those who complete all the pages of the passport.

Physical copies are available at the Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal and in libraries around the Island.

Since its launch in July, the holiday initiative is proving popular but the Year of Our Island team have been contacted by disappointed parents who have took to the outdoors, only to find the stamps had been taken.

People are reminded when they finish an activity, if they could make sure to leave the stamps and rocks for other people to enjoy.
