Island athletes put in good displays on day one in Sheffield
A young Manx athlete has taken a gold medal on the first day of competition at an event in Yorkshire this weekend.
Regan Corrin secured gold in the U17 men's long jump during the Northern Track & Field Championships taking place in Sheffield.
He's one of a series of Island competitors taking part in the event.
Also among the results yesterday, Alex Bell took fifth spot in the senior men's 1500m final whilst Ryan Corrin and Carla Teece secured sixth place finishes in the U20 men's 1500m final and U20 women's 60m final respectively.
The championships continue today (15 January).
