Third round of racing at Jurby this Sunday (10 May)
The early battles in this season's Andreas Racing Association (ARA) Championship will resume in the north of the Island this weekend.
Following a test session taking place today (9 May), the third round of racing across the respective classes will get underway at Jurby Airfield from Sunday morning (10 May).
Among the contests will be the next two events in the Open Solo Centre Championship where reigning champion, Jamie Cringle and nearest challenger, Rory Parker are expected to renew their tussle for supremacy.
So far the two have enjoyed success over the other in these earlier stages of the campaign, as ARA Club Secretary, Neal Champion explains:
Both Cringle and Parker head into the weekend locked together at the top of the Open Solo Centre Championship standings on 54 points, which is 16 points clear of the next nearest competitor.
Elsewhere, Kyle Casement will have the chance to extend his lead in the Supersport Championship - he leads by 18 points over Grant Thomson in second who is currently attending the North West 200 in Northern Ireland this week.
Also impressing early on this season is Francesco Faraldo who currently leads the way after two rounds in both the Singles, Twins & Triples Championship and the Supertwins & Sportbike Championship.
Meanwhile, there will be no sidecar racing round taking place this Sunday, although three-wheeled outfits are taking part in the non-competitive testing sessions today.
Tomorrow, machines are due to be out on track from approximately 9.30am.
All timings remain subject to change depending on prevailing conditions and circumstances.
