Manxman misses out on sprint finish
Mark Cavendish crashed during yesterday's opening stage of the Tour of Britain, ruling him out of contention of the sprint finish.
The Manxman went down on a tight corner close to the finish, along with Team Sky's Elia Viviani.
Cav managed to ride away from the scene, but Viviani's bike was broken in two.
The stage, a 100-mile route from Glasgow to Castle Douglas, was won by Lotto Soudal sprinter Andre Greipel.
